Let Us Live!

Can women just go about our business and just live?! This week I saw a news story about a young woman shopping in Whole Foods. She bends down to get some chips and a dude intentionally spills his seed on her back. Afterwards he looked her in her eyes and zipped up his pants: https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/whole-foods-sex-act-bodily-fluids-arrest

Then, I read a news story about a woman trying on clothes in Nordstrom Rack and a man comes in the ladies dressing room and is trying to record women undressing: https://kdvr.com/news/local/alleged-peeping-tom-victim-takes-matters-into-her-own-hands/

Then, I see the video of Diddy literally snatching Cassie and slamming her to the ground and then kicks her. He did more and you can view the video for yourself: https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/17/entertainment/sean-combs-cassie-ventura/index.html

I included the links to the stories because y’all always doubting attacks against women or forever accusing women of doing “something” to cause these attacks, assaults, and being unalived😡

Yes, seriously! It’s ridiculous the lengths women have to go to prove to others the traumatic experiences that happen to them🤦🏾‍♀️😡

We just want to live our lives without having to be concerned about some sorry excuse of a man’s unwanted advances, harassment, assault, being forced to have relations, or even being unalived!

I have a FOID card and I have been hesitant to complete the necessary training to learn how to bang bang and be able to conceal, but I’m going to go ahead and do it because I have to protect myself, when I’m out just trying mind my business and live my life!

Happy National Teacher Appreciation Day!

To every teacher that reads this Happy National Teacher Appreciation Day! Thank you for being the catalyst that turned on the lightbulb of learning! Many years from now your students will remember how you cared and what they learned from you.

Teaching is a superpower!

Good teachers should be appreciated. I teach college courses and there’s no experience like witnessing the learning lightbulb turn on for a student!

My favorite teacher was Mrs. Champion. She was my 8th grade teacher. She’s gone, but she will never be forgotten. She was the one that turned on my love for learning and taught me to always do my best. Mediocre was unacceptable! She has left a lasting imprint on my life. Even after I graduated, she still cared and wanted to know what I was doing. She bought my son a baby shower gift. Thank you Mrs. Champion for everything!
